US National Poomsae Team Seminar – Arnold, MO – February 2018

We are pleased to announce a series of upcoming poomsae training opportunities athletes of all levels! The US National Team coaches, including Head Coach Dan Chuang, and Coaches David Turgeon, Barbara Brand and Huy Nguyen, in addition to other current and former national team coaches and athletes, will be conducting National Poomsae Team training events throughout the United States as a way of disseminating the latest training methods and poomsae knowledge, as well as to raise funds for the US National Poomsae Team, which is largely self-funded. 100% of the proceeds will help support our USA National Poomsae Team.

Session 2: 10:30am-12:00pm (Green Belts ages 6+)
Session 3: 1:30pm-3:00pm (Blue Belts ages 6+)
Session 4: 3:00pm-5:00pm (Black Belts ages 6+) (Beegak Poomsae)

Description:

Team USA posted 20 medals (4 gold) at the most recent World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, as well as a dominant performance at the 2017 Pan American Championships – come and learn some of the training methods that made that performance possible! Coach Turgeon will explain the training methods used to train athletes of all levels, from novice competitors through world-medalist caliber athletes.

Session 1 (9am-10:20am) will focus on correct poomsae fundamentals (hand techiques, kicking and transitions), accuracy, and Taegeuk 1+2.

Session 2 (10:30am-12:00pm) will focus on correct poomsae fundamentals (hand techiques, kicking and transitions), accuracy, and Taegeuk 3+4.

Session 3 (1:30pm-3:00pm) will focus on correct poomsae fundamentals (hand techiques, kicking and transitions), accuracy, and Taegeuk 5+6.

Session 4 (3:00pm-5:00pm) will focus on the black belt forms and will introduce the new Beegak Forms.

For black belts, taking all four sessions is recommended.|
